William Fred Harguth was born Oct. 6, 1921, near Maynard, MN. He was the son of Walter and Gertrude (Schumacher) Harguth. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Clara Catholic Church in Clara City and attended St. Clara Parochial School through the 8th grade. He then began his lifetime career in farming.
William loved the land. He loved the combine. He started planting corn being guided by horse and wire. By the time he finished his career he was being guided by a satellite in the combine and planter. Harguth Brothers were never scared to try new technology. They were the first to have a pipeline in the milk house. He, along with his brothers, raised award winning Holstein milking cows and was a member of the Holstein Friesian Association. He was a faithful and active member of St. Clara and St. Joseph Catholic Churches.
Will was called from this life while a resident of the Clara City Care Center on January 22, 2018. He was 96 years of age.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Marlene Harguth of Maynard, MN; his nephew Brian (Brenda), Brianna, Brett and Brogan Harguth, all of Maynard, MN; his niece, Beth (& Jason), Benjamin and Allison Bruhn, all of Willmar, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers- Bernard, Paul & Walter, Jr.
