Vivian Mae Jeseritz, age 94, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019, at her home in Granite Falls. Vivian was born May 1, 1924, the daughter of Paul F. and Anna (Habben) Reinke, in Hawk Creek Township, Renville County. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Vivian graduated from the Granite Falls High School, she was one of the first class to start and graduate from the new school.
Vivian was united in marriage to Arleigh Jeseritz on October 22, 1944, at the United Lutheran Church in Granite Falls. They made their home on the farm where Arleigh was born and together they became a team, working together on the farm; appreciating and enjoying each other’s company. Vivian started her career as a waitress, worked at the Marshall Egg Plant and then Plews in Granite Falls retiring in 1989. She was active with the Ladies Aid at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake, Minnesota.
Vivian taught herself to crochet as a young girl and it became her favorite hobby. Over the years she made many beautiful afghans, doilies, Christmas tree skirts, mittens and other items for family and friends. Vivian loved to read and read many books. She also enjoyed gardening, canning and preserving fruits and vegetables. Other hobbies included baking, especially at Christmas time, taking care of her pets, Corky and Tabby, and feeding the wildlife. Another favorite of Vivian’s was listening to Christian music. Faith and family were the anchors of her live and she loved every minute spent together.
Vivian is survived by her children: Sandra (Jerald) Sader of Mankato, Jilane (Gerald) Binstock of Good Thunder, Randy (Shelley Loose) of Granite Falls; grandchildren: Corey (Wendy) Sader, Angela (Keith) Aune, Karin (Joshua) Ernst, Michael (Kelli) Binstock, Michele (Michael) Zinke, Nicole (Tom) Balko, Tanya Jeseritz; great grandchildren: Drew and Levi Sader, Ava and Elias Aune, Carter and Emery Ernst, Amanda, Marissa and Matthew Binstock, Mckenzie and Tori Jeseritz, Brad and John Balko, Madison Jeseritz; as well as extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arleigh, in 2008; her parents, Paul and Anna; brother, Donald Reinke and three grandchildren in infancy.
