Virginia Olson, 77, of Granite Falls, passed away on Sunday, June 21st at the St. Cloud Hospital. There will be no service at this time.
Virginia (Ginny) Lee Werner was born on September 8th, 1942 to the parents of Ralph and Orpha Werner. She graduated in 1960 and was united in marriage to the love of her life Henry O Olson Sr on September 30th, 1961. From this marriage 4 children were born, Babette Ann (Bunny) Henry O Olson JR(Butch) Lee Richard, and Kimberly Sue.
Mother worked as a aide and the Granite Falls Hospital, Plews, The Country Club, Valley Super Club, The Nook, and her and Hank owned and operated the Tri County Café for several years. Ginny had a passion for food service and cooking. She taught her children how to cook and could make a feast out of any meal that she prepared. Mother was a quick study with a gun and leaned to hunt form Hank. Mother had a keen eye and earned the nick name of Annie Oakley form dad for keeping the rabbit and squirrel population at bay from the gardens. She taught her children how to can the vegetables from the garden and how to make jams and jellies She was not afraid of any work and sometimes she drove the tractor as her and dad would bale hay for the farm. Mother always had lunch ready and would bring it to the fields during harvest or baling time no matter where the work was being done. She also helped in the butchering of the family chickens and work the long hours until the chore was done. Feisty and never afraid to give her opinion was a strong suite of mothers. Always with a smile even towards the end mom loved all that were around her. Her passing will leave a void in her family’s heart, but they know that her pain has now gone away.
Surviving Mother is her husband Hank, daughters Babette Bardwell and friend Jim Moist, Kimberly Sue Johnson. Sons Henry O Olson Jr and fiancé Deb Colon, and Lee Richard and Karla Olson. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nieces and nephews, sisters Becky, Robin, brothers Carlton, Marvin, Bruce and Brian. She is proceeded in death by her parents, her mother and father in law, brother in law and sisters in laws and granddaughter Kailey Elizabeth Olson.
