Virginia Catherine Pederson Hegna, 85 of Granite Falls passed away on November 5, 2017 at the Clarkfield Care Center. She was born February 19, 1932 in Clements, MN to Clifton and Christine (Monson) Pederson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Faith. She graduated in 1950 from Sanborn, MN.
Virginia moved to Granite Falls to work at the Sanatorium. She married Arnold Hegna, and from this union 7 children were born. She worked at Plews/Parker Hannifin for several years. She was a member of the St. Andrew Catholic Church. Virginia enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, crocheting, reading, helping with church functions, playing cards, and watching the Twins baseball team. She was a great mother and grandmother.
She is survived by: her daughters, Deb Hegna of Clarkfield, Julie (David) Halverson of Montevideo, Kathryn Barber of Montevideo, Kerry Johnson of Boyd, Pam (Kyle) Weber of Granite Falls, and Amy (Todd) Tennis of Clarkfield. Grandchildren: Troy, Chad (Jodi) and Ryan Halverson, Nicole Siegel, Jamie (Walter) Nelson, Cassandra (Morgan) Ironheart, Carline Barber, Jessica and Thor Jacobsen, Kirsten (Brent) Musch, Kevin (Kale) and Ethan (Jessi) Weber, Tiffany and Whitney Tennis, and several great grandchildren. Siblings: Donna Olson, Roland (Jean) Pederson, Gladys Morin, Bill (Chris) Pederson, Marliss (Jerry) Johnston, and Steve (Marvanna) Pederson, several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: Parents, Clifton and Christine Pederson, infant son, Alan, son-in-laws, Chris Jacobsen, and Rick Hilden, brother-in-law, Elwood Olson and sister-in-law, Marie Anderson.
