Violet Henslin, 92, of Clara City, passed away on Wednesday, December 30th at the Clara City Care Center. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 5th at 1 pm at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Clara City.
Violet Evangeline Henslin was born April 5, 1928, the daughter of Otto & O’Tillie (Gehrke) Hanson in Tallulah, Louisiana. She lost her mother at a very young age and the family moved to Clara City, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Violet graduated from the Clara City High School in 1946.
She was united in marriage on September 17, 1952, to Gordon Henslin and they had four children. They were married for 61 years. Violet was active in 4-H, her home makers club and the Ladies Aid at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was also the Clerk for Lone Tree Township for many years. Violet enjoyed sewing and helped out on the farm with her strong work ethic. She loved the holidays and cooked for days in preparation, to make everything extra special.
Violet passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at the Clara City Care Center. She was 92 years of age.
She is survived by her son Bryan (Jen) Henslin of Raymond and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2014, three children at birth, grandson Chad Henslin and two brothers: Paul and Everett Hanson.
