Vida E Labatte
July 2, 1937 — June 25, 2015
Vida Elaine LaBatte was born July 2, 1937, in Havelock Township, the daughter of Carl & Agnes (Rieners) Maus. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City. She attended school in Maynard.
Vida was united in marriage to Ellis Nelson on December 8, 1954, in South Dakota. Ellis passed away in 1982. Vida enjoyed bowling, playing cards, bingo, gambling and traveling. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was united in marriage to Archie “Sonny” LaBatte on December 29, 1984, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Granite Falls. Sonny passed away in 1993.
Vida passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2015, at the Granite Falls Hospital. She was 77 years of age.
She is survived by her children: Darryl Nelson of Maynard; Sherry (Jeff) Goschey of Maynard; Sandra (Tim Hentz) Nelson of Willmar; Jane (Darby Peterson) Westerlund of Maynard; Deb (Curt) Lee of Maynard and Lynn (Terry) Vold of Clarkfield; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister Lafern Stegeman of Raymond and sister-in-law Cheryl Maus of Montevideo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two sisters, one brother, one granddaughter and two great grandchildren.
