Verna Murilin Mack was born March 24, 1928 in Teien Township, Kittson County, Minnesota, the daughter of Wilson and Mabel (Soderfelt) Brew. She passed away December 29, 2016 at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota.
She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran Faith in Scranton, North Dakota. Verna grew up and went to school in Drayton, North Dakota.
On November 9, 1946 she was united in marriage to Howard Mack in Baker, Montana. To this union seven children were born.
Verna cared for the home and the children when they were young. She later worked at Dairy Queen, Plews, and Warner Manufacturing Company. Verna and her husband were owner/operators of a laundromat and The Arcade in Granite Falls. After retirement, they assembled scent drip bottles for Wildlife Research Center.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting, crossword puzzles, cooking, baking and attending coffee club. Verna was a member of the VFW and Granite Falls Manor Axillary’s and volunteered at the election polls. Her crocheted scrubbies were a hit every Christmas with the entire family.
Verna is survived by her son: Sam (Cami) Mack of Basking Ridge, New Jersey; Sheldon (Ann) Mack of Deer River; Scott (Colleen) Mack of Prior Lake; daughters: Susan (David) Aufderheide of West Lafayette, Indiana; Sherilyn Hubert of Granite Falls; Sheila (Jeff) Strohman of Pensacola, Florida; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sister: Dolly Elliot of Yuma, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Wilson and Mabel Brew; husband, Howard Mack; son: Rodney Mack; brother: Earl Brew; sisters: Vivian Carlson, Maude Erhardt, Ella Poole, Vi Poole, Mabel Olson; son-in-law: Steve Hubert.
