Verlin Burnett Kluver was born May 2, 1932, the son of Emil & Mabel (Chelin) Kluver in Clara City. He was baptized May 10, 1932 and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Verlin graduated from the Clara City High School in 1950.
In 1951, Verlin served his country in the United States Air Force. He was deployed to Korea in 1952 with the 474th Fighter Bomber Unit with the 8102 Army Unit. During his service he was awarded the Army Congressional Ribbon.
Verlin worked in the grain elevator construction business and traveled across the country. He managed grain companies is Casa Grande, Arizona and also in the Dakotas and Minnesota. He was a member of the Clara City Fire Department, Clara City American Legion and a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his children: Karla (David) Ralls, Laurie (David) Hutchinson and John Kluver; three grandchildren: Matthew Ralls, Karoline Zeller and Riley Anne Hutchinson; three great grandchildren; two sisters: Ruth (Dennis) Harguth and Mary Lou (David) Norgaard.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Verlin Kluver, 87, of Clara City, died Wednesday, January 29th at the Clara City Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 3rd at 11:30 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am Monday at the church and continue until the time of the service. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.
