Vance Ost Profile Photo
Vance Lowell Ost, age 81, was born on April 3, 1937, in Montevideo, MN, the son of Carl and Alice (Larson) Ost. He was baptized and confirmed in St. John’s Lutheran Church east of Montevideo and graduated from Montevideo High School.
Vance proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1953 – 1957, stationed in Germany. Following his honorable discharge, Vance was employed at numerous jobs but the one he most enjoyed was driving bus for Clark Transport in Montevideo. He loved interacting with the kids. Vance was also manager of the Montevideo VFW for a time.
Vance enjoyed hunting and spending time in the outdoors. He also loved spending time with his many friends and family. Due to failing health, Vance became a resident of Rosewood Assisted Living residence in Montevideo. He passed away there peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday June 17, 2018, at the age of 81.
Surviving family include his son, Craig Ost and daughter, Lisa Rader, both of Montevideo, MN; brother Cleon Ost of Montevideo, MN; 4 granddaughters, Wendy Nolte of Austin, TX, Bailey Baldwin of Montevideo, MN, Britta Rader of Montevideo, MN and Vonnie Bruce of Gladstone, MI; 8 great grandchildren and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Charles.
