Troy Huntley, age 61, of Montevideo, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at CCM Health in Montevideo. Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Friday, March 29, 2024 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Montevideo. A family service will be held at 3:30 PM.
Troy Lynne Huntley was born August 22, 1962 in Alexandria, Minnesota, the son of Burton and Mary (Telkamp) Huntley. He grew up in Montevideo and even as a young boy, Troy would bike down to the river to go fishing. He attended school in Montevideo and graduated with the class of 1981.
After graduation, Troy started working and through the years he explored many occupations. In his early 20s, he and a good friend travel through the south finding local events to be the “stunt” men, which later he enjoyed sharing his crazy stunts as long as his mother wasn’t within hearing distance. Troy also seemed to always have a job bar tending and enjoyed the banter with his customers.
Troy was “one of a kind.” He loved the outdoors, enjoying countless hours fishing and hunting. His trips to Lake of the Woods were frequent and he would invariably invite anyone that wanted to go to share his happy place. Troy was full of jokes and he loved to sing various songs purposely with the wrong words. He was constantly on the go and spread happiness along his way. He always had a hug for his mom and he found his true love in Patty which brought a daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren to his world.
Troy is survived by his fiancée, Patty Lenning of Montevideo; mother, Mary Huntley of Montevideo; ‘bonus’ daughter, Stephanie (Josh) Ronningen; granddaughters, Emma, Fallon, Rylee; brother, Bart Huntley of Montevideo; sister, JoLene Huntley of Montevideo; nieces and nephews, Steven Huntley, Kari (DJ) Kirking, Melissa Schroeder, Jeremy (Samantha) Huntley; as well as other relatives and friends.
Troy is preceded in death by his father, Burton “Butch” Huntley; son, Duncan Christian Huntley.
