Tom Gilbertson

Thomas Allan Gilbertson was born on March 9th, 1952 in Montevideo, Minnesota to Harris and Glorietta Gilbertson. He was raised on the family farm north of Watson. After graduating from Milan High School with the class of 1970, he joined the National Guard, serving his country for six years. He married Holly Kalstrom at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on July 23, 1971. Their union was blessed with 3 sons and a daughter. While raising his family, Tom worked for the DNR and joined his father in the farming operation. He also developed and owned the Western Crop Insurance Agency and 1st Minnesota Realty, Inc. He nurtured his love of the land and rural living as a member of most of the local hunting organizations and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Cherishing his memory are his children: Shane (Shelly) Gilbertson along with Hunter and Levi; Brett (Peggy) Gilbertson along with Devin, Cody and Sienna; Crystal (Jeff) Feuerhelm along with Isabelle and Natalie; and Drew (Lori) Gilbertson; his special friend Dayna Lemcke and her son Dylan; his mother Glorietta Gilbertson; his brother Tim (Jody) Gilbertson along with Stacey (Jeremy) Enevoldsen and Matt (Miranda) Gilbertson; the mother of his children Holly Gilbertson along with extended family and friends. His father Harris Gilbertson, brother Gary Gilbertson, and grandparents Lloyd and Florence Gulden and George and Caroline Gilbertson preceded him in death.
