Thomas Agre, 85, of Granite Falls, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the RenVilla Health Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 22nd at 1:00 pm at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Friday at the church.
Thomas Morrel Agre was born July 14, 1938, the son of Morrel & E. Viola (Hegdahl) Agre in Sacred Heart. He was baptized September 23, 1938, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Sacred Heart and confirmed on April 6, 1952, at Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck. He graduated from the Sacred Heart High School in 1956. Following high school he started farming with his grandfather.
Tom served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in June of 1963. He returned to Sacred Heart and continued farming.
Tom was united in marriage with Barbara Moseng on May 28, 1966, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Baxter. They made their home in Sacred Heart. They moved to Granite Falls in 1972, when Tom began his career as a Granite Falls Police Officer. He later went to work for UPS and retired from that position. Following retirement Tom drove the city bus and worked for H&H Construction part time. He volunteered his time and talents at the Granite Falls Lutheran Church. He enjoyed being outdoors working in the yard.
Tom passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the RenVilla Health Center. He was 85 years of age.
He is survived by his daughter Jodi (Steve) Petersen of Granite Falls; grandchildren: Derek (Katie) Lalim of Otsego, Aaron Lalim of Killdeer, North Dakota, and Grant (Abby) Lalim of Granite Falls; brothers: Wayne (Carolyn) Agre of New London and David Agre of Montevideo; sister-in-law Linda Agre; and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Barb, infant son, sister Beverly Gerdes and brother Dennis Agre.
