Theodore William Marcotte, 57, of Granite Falls, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2014 with family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born October 24, 1956 to Warren and Pauline in Marshall, Minnesota. He grew up in Marshall where he was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith at Holy Redeemer Church. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1975. After high school, he attended Pipestone Technical College graduating from the meat cutting program. He then began his lifelong career in Granite Falls with the locally owned grocery business, currently Almichs’s Market. Ted married Kristine Wagner on January 7, 1978. They later divorced. He then met special friend Laura Kendall, whom he shared the rest of his life with. Ted loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing, and his nightly drives along the river bottom scoping out the beautiful wildlife. He also had a special love for his grandchildren.
He is survived by his mother Pauline Marcotte of Granite Falls; children: Jennifer (Andrew) Monson of Granite Falls and Jacob Marcotte of Nashville, Tennessee; his grandchildren: Samantha Anderson and Drew Monson; brothers: Charles (Mary) Marcotte of Glendale, Arizona; Bill (Donna) Marcotte of Irene, South Dakota; Dave (Karen) Marcotte of Estherville, Iowa; special friend Laura Kendall and many nieces and nephews. Ted was preceded in death by his father, Warren Marcotte, and a brother Doug Marcotte.
