Sylvia Ida Scott was born August 18, 1921 in Long Prairie, Minnesota the daughter of Edward and Pauline (Schultz) Prill. She passed away January 13, 2015 at the Clarkfield Care Center.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Long Prairie, grew up on the family farm in Long Prairie Township and attended country school.
On June 27, 1945, she was united in marriage to Clarence Scott on her parent’s farm in Long Prairie Township. This union was blessed with three daughters.
Sylvia worked as a housekeeper in the Long Prairie area while Clarence finished his education to become a chiropractor. They moved to Granite Falls in 1954 and she cared for their home and raised the girls.
She was a member of Granite Falls Lutheran Church and recently stayed active in social activities at the Clarkfield Care Center. Sylvia enjoyed sewing, baking, and cooking. She and Clarence enjoyed dancing and traveling together. Sylvia also loved birdwatching, holidays, especially Halloween, playing games and always winning. Her favorite time was that spent with her family. She collected dolls and thimbles. Sylvia was known for her extensive hat collection and wearing them at special events. Life was always a celebration for Sylvia.
She is survived by her daughters: LoyAnn (Don) Anderson of Delano; Reeva (Sam) Lodermeier of Delano; Alida (Shawn) Flynn of Granite Falls; grandchildren: Kim Anderson, Paula (Paul) Schumacher, Teri (Kevin) Miller, Stacy (Kris) Jacobson, Scott (Jessica) Lodermeier, Jamie (Eric) Preuss; great grandchildren: Nathan Schumacher, Jake Schumacher, Morgan Miller, Jayna Miller, Alex Jacobson, Royce Preuss; sister: Jeanette Prill of Granite Falls; sister-in-law: Irene Prill of Long Prairie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dr. Clarence Scott, grandson Kelly Flynn, and a brother Edward Prill, Jr.
