Sue Ann Spencer was born on November 13, 1942, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of George Bryant and Lilah Cecelia (Stephens) Spencer. She was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist faith. She moved with her family to Montevideo where she graduated from high school and for several years was a secretary for her father in his real estate business.
When her father retired, Sue began working at Luther Haven Nursing Home in housekeeping. This she did for over 35 years. Sue enjoyed her employment at Luther Haven and loved to assist and visit with the residents.
Sue enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, taking walks, watching baseball, basketball, and football games. She also loved to read and travel with the bank tour groups whenever she could. She was a member of United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter in Montevideo.
Due to her failing health, Sue became a resident of Luther Haven Nursing Home. She passed away there on Wednesday July 5th, 2017 at the age of 74 years.
Sue is survived by two nieces, several cousins and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Lee, her grandparents, aunts and uncles.
