Steven Mark Buelow was born in Hutchinson, Minnesota on August 24, 1959, the son of Donald & Darlene Buelow. His family moved to Bloomington when his father became the pastor of Mt. Hope Lutheran Church. Steve attended school in Bloomington until he graduated in 1977. He was active in school sports, participating in basketball, football, track and baseball. Following graduation, he attended school at Hibbing Vo Tech for law enforcement. Due to the death of his father, he moved back home to help his mother.

Steve was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed many hunting and fishing expeditions with family members and friends. Steve worked for Control Data for 20 years in the Engineering Department. Following layoffs, he sold his home in Bloomington and moved to Watson in 2003, for the goose hunting.

Steve was an avid cabinet maker in his spare time as well as building fences and decks for his mother’s neighbors and friends.

Steve met his wife Cathy at a Country Western Dance Class at Starks in Inver Grove Heights. They enjoyed a 13-year friendship until Steve moved to Watson. He then proposed and the two were married on August 21, 2004. Steve had to learn patience in dealing with a teenage daughter, whom he loves dearly.

From 2003 until 2022, he worked for Friendship Homes, Chandler Industries, Jenny O, Transystems and Viessman Trucking.

He is survived by his wife Cathy, mother Darlene of Bloomington, daughters: Diana (Tim) Macziewski of Montevideo and Charissa Mieseler (Jason Weise) of Belle Plain; grandchildren: Averie, Colton, Ashlynn Mieseler, Aubrey, Mack, Theo and Bodie Macziewski, Avary & Stephanie Weise; sister Sue (Brent) Knight of Apple Valley, brother Jeff Buelow of Bloomington, and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
