Steven Bestge

Steven Dean Bestge was born on July 3, 1953, in Montevideo, MN, the son of Fred A. and Gladys L. Bestge. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and graduated from Raymond High School in 1971. On November 23, 1974, he was united in marriage to Charlyn Gilsrud at Big Bend Lutheran Church.Steven was a friendly, outgoing man. He enjoyed the simple things in life and loved sharing them with Charlyn. He loved farming and fixing and repairing his farm equipment and his old construction equipment. When not working, he liked to watch old western movies, spend quiet time on the deck with Charlyn drinking coffee and bird watching. He also enjoyed riding his John Deere Gator, especially if Charlyn, his German Shepherd Emmy or the grandkids would pal along, attending the ?Earp Brothers? Bible study group with his friends, and most of all, spending time with his beloved grandchildren. Steven was called from this life on Monday afternoon as a result of a heart attack. He was 60 years of age. Surviving family include his wife Charlyn of Raymond, his son Josh (Jamie) Bestge of Raymond, his grandchildren Matthew, Ellie & Annalynn; one sister- Mary (Ron) Ryks of Prinsburg, his mother-in-law Esther Gilsrud of Willmar and his German Shepherd Emmy. He was preceded in death by his parents- Fred & Gladys Bestge and his father-in-law Clifford Gilsrud.
