Sonja Louise Enevoldsen was born on September 20, 1941, near Watson, MN, the daughter of Arnold and Mathilda Denton. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church of Watson on October 15, 1941 and confirmed her Lutheran faith at Lac Qui Parle Lutheran Church. She graduated from Dawson High School in 1960 and then attended Interstate Business College in Fargo, ND.On July 25, 1964, Sonja was united in marriage to Leslie Enevoldsen at Lac Qui Parle Lutheran Church. They had four children: Kim, Richard, Robert & Randy. Sonja worked for three years at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Montevideo. She then worked in the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital for eight years. For many years Sonja farmed with her family and did the bookkeeping for Enevoldsen Enterprises. Sonja enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting, reading, cooking, antique collecting, fishing and spending time at their lake home on Lake of the Woods. She was happy to serve as a faithful member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church for many years. She treasured her time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and her many friends.At the age of 69, following a courageous battle with an extended illness, Sonja was called from this life while a patient at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.Surviving family include her husband Leslie of Montevideo; her children- Kim Suzanne (& David) Dommer of Bruce, SD, Richard L. (& Jan) Enevoldsen of Montevideo, Robert L. (& Melissa) Enevoldsen of Montevideo, and Randy A. (& Kristina) Enevoldsen of New Ulm; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; 3 sisters- Mollie Koskela of Hawaii, Mary Bruty of Washington, IA and Grace Ring of Blaine; extended family and many friends.She was preceded in death by her parents.
