Sherrill Kay Calley was born May 2, 1939 in Bradley, South Dakota, the daughter of Bernard and Helen (Rasmusson) Hotzler. She passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Sherry was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clark, South Dakota and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bradley, South Dakota. Sherry grew up in the Clark County area and graduated from Bradley High School with the class of 1957.
On April 20, 1958, Sherry was united in marriage to Herbert Calley at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bradley. To this union four children were born.
After Herb’s discharge from the Navy, they made their home in Granite Falls. Sherry was a devoted wife and loving mother caring for their home and children.
She worked at Midland National Life Insurance Company, SuperValu, Mid-West Video and Marr Valve. Sherry enjoyed jig-saw puzzles, sewing, crossword puzzles, cooking and traveling to Las Vegas and Mexico. Sherry or “Speedy", as she was known, especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching their sporting events.
Sherry is survived by her husband Herb Calley of Granite Falls; son, Rick (Barb) Calley of Red Wing; daughter, Tracy (Rick) Theisen of Champlin; grandchildren: Lindsay (Stuart) Larson, Alex Calley, Neil Theisen and Erica Theisen; and her brother Barry (Cindi) Hotzler of Oakdale.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Bernard and Helen Hotzler; sons: Jeffery Scott and Bradley Calley; sister: Diane Abell; and brother: Dennis “Duke” Hotzler.
