Sara Esther Blue "Wamnu", was born to William C. and Pansy V. (Ross St. Clair) Weldon on April 25, 1937, in Minnesota Falls Township, Yellow Medicine County, near Granite Falls, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in the Episcopalian faith and attended school in Granite Falls.As a teenager, Sara worked at the Granite Falls Sanitorium. She was united in marriage to Larry V. Blue in Granite Falls and later was employed at Kemp's Creamery in St. Paul. She also worked at the Webster Elementary School in St. Paul. She worked for a short time at the Travelodge in Las Vegas, NV and after returning to the Granite Falls area, Sara worked in numerous jobs including Plews-Parker Hannifin Division in Granite falls, the Clarkfield Care Center, the Upper Sioux Community, (as a Community Health Representative), Firefly Creek Casino and later- Prairie's Edge Casino Resort.Sara loved to travel and loved music, (especially Merle Haggert). She enjoyed dancing, gardening, bowling, watching classic movies and tending to her animals. Her most recent love was playing ?finding the needle? in the Country Living Magazine. Sara was never afraid to speak her mind and gave good advice to many of her family and friends. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.Due to numerous health issues, Sara had recently become a resident of the Clarkfield Care Center. She was called from this life on Monday afternoon, August 5, 2013, at 2:15 PM while a patient at the University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. She was 76 years of age.Surviving family include her children- Jackie Blue, Alex (& Tracy) Blue, James Blue, Laurie (& Ron) Pooler and Anthony Blue, all of Granite Falls; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter- Sandy Blue-Knutson; and infant son- Vincent Gene Blue; a granddaughter- Holly Jean Gardner and son-in-laws Brent Anderson and Charles "Dave" Gardner.
