In addition to being a mom, she worked at Kmart and a nursing home until the couple moved to a farm north of Watson, Minnesota in 1990. Where Sandy helped Roger with administration duties in the businesses he owned those years, but her greatest passion was being a hobby farmer of their 15 acres haven. She raised chickens, pigs, ducks, pheasants and turkeys. Sandy and Roger also had a love for all of their fur babies, and feathered friends. Sandy and Roger also had big hearts for any critter they came across that was in need of rescue and medical treatment before they sent them back out into the forest. Sandy designed a very beautiful pond with a waterfall where she grew exotic plants and flowers and also had koi fish. She loved being outside digging in the dirt.
Sandy and Roger moved to Lake Cowdry in Alexandria in 2004, and then a few years later, they made their way South spending time in Galveston Texas and Arkansas and then Arizona before moving back in 2017 to Montevideo.
