Ruth Stevens

Ruth Mathilda Stevens was born Dec. 26, 1921, in Wang Township, Renville County, the daughter of Christopher and Mathilda (Ellefson) Dalager. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended country school and Granite Falls Public School.Ruth was united in marriage to Arden Stevens. She worked for J.C. Penney Company in Excelsior in the accounting division for many years.She was a faithful member of Granite Falls Lutheran Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family. She especially loved to cook meals around the holiday period for her family.She is survived by her brother, Elmer Dalager of Granite Falls; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Aaron and Richard; a daughter Rachel; four brothers, Orville Dalager, Melvin Dalager, Christopher M. Dalager, Chester Dalager; and one sister, Lillian Friend.
