Russell Lee Knutson was born on May 26, 1961 in Granite Falls, the son of John and Emma Knutson (Christianson). He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the Granite Falls Lutheran Church and graduated from the Granite Falls High School.
He was self-employed, doing carpentry and mechanical work. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the little ones, always taking care of everyone else. He enjoyed fishing, fishing, and fishing some more. He also enjoyed making furniture – large or small.
Russell Lee Knutson passed away peacefully on Friday, December 21, 2018 at his home, with family present. He was 57 years of age.
Grateful for having shared his life are his mother, Emma Knutson of Granite Falls, MN, his fiancé Lori Knutson of Granite Falls, MN, along with her children, Rachel and Jeremy Steenerson, Lacey and her fiancé Kurtis Bennett, Gunner Knutson and his significant other Kayla Swords, all of Granite Falls, MN and her grandchildren, Reagan and Harper, his brother Rich and Nancy Knutson (Gumm) of Clitherall, MN, his sister Enola and Tom Rolla of Clarkfield, MN, his brother Eric and Andrea Knutson (Pflumm) of Granite Falls, MN, his sister Pam and Brian Kramer of Brookings, SD, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death his father, John Knutson, his brother Michael Knutson and his fiancé, Pam Hubert, his maternal and paternal grandparents, and many other beloved family members.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 27th at 1:00 pm at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
