Ronald Johnson

Ronald Bruce Johnson was born on Dec. 22, 1942, in Granite Falls, MN, the son of Arnold and Ann Johnson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1962. Ron proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1963 ? 1965.On April 1, 1967, Ron was united in marriage to Penny K. Schelsky in Illinois where they made their home. From this union two children were born Lori & Gary. In 1981, the couple moved to Granite Falls where Ron was employed at numerous jobs. He loved to fish, hunt, play buck, go dancing and spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He had a dry sense of humor which will be deeply missed by those who were close to him. On Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, Ron was received into the Lord's heavenly kingdom while a patient at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, following an extended illness. He was 68 years of age. Surviving Ron is his wife Penny of Granite Falls, MN; his daughter Lori (& Terry) Fagen of Sacred Heart, MN; his son Gary Johnson (& fiancé Patti), of Omaha, NE; brothers Dick (& Chris) Johnson of Bloomington, MN, Loren (& Dianna) Johnson of Maple Grove, MN and Steve (& Chris) Johnson of Apple Valley, MN; sisters Kay (& Herb) Steenson of Granite Falls, MN and Linda Corcoran of Hopkins, MN; grandchildren Travis & Trevor Fagen and Kayla & Bradly Johnson; numerous friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
