RoJean O’Malley, 76, of Appleton, passed away on Monday, July 2nd at the Appleton Hospital. Per RoJean’s request, there will a private family service in DeGraff.
RoJean Mary O’Malley, 76, of Appleton passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Appleton Hospital on July 2. RoJean was born September 27th, 1941, in Appleton Minnesota to Lowell and Marion Todd. RoJean graduated high school in 1959, in Appleton. She lived her life as a selfless caretaker, and her sunny smile and warm hugs will be missed.
RoJean and husband Jim (1943-2009) lived in DeGraff Minnesota and raised five boys (John Patrick, Patrick James, Michael John, Jimmy Dugan, and Bradley Charles). They moved to Montevideo in 1979. RoJean worked in several capacities including being a realtor, security at the Appleton Prison and as dispatch at the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department,
In recent years, RoJean spent most of her time with Dave Perry, her significant other, and their dog Fred. They spent many winters in Roswell, New Mexico and would return to their home in Appleton in the spring.
RoJean was very witty, independent, kind, and could be tough if warranted. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, laughing, taking care of others and spending time with family at the lake in Wisconsin. She also enjoyed having a good time with friends and family while enjoying her wine. She was also a woman of strong faith.
RoJean was the matriarch of the family, was selfless and spent a lot of her life caring and helping others. She had a knack for making anyone feel welcome, and she made friends wherever she went.
At RoJean’s request there will be no funeral service. RoJean requested that we throw her a party to celebrate her life, and to laugh and tell stories. There will be a private internment for family only in DeGraff, Minnesota prior to the party.
