Rodney Olson, age 72, of Milan, Minnesota passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon, one hour prior to the service.
Rodney Duane Olson was born December 20, 1950, the son of Walter & Mardelle (Miller) Olson in Appleton. He was baptized at the parsonage in Big Bend Lutheran Church and was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church. He graduated from the Milan High School in 1968. Rod continued his education at the Canby Vocational Technical College, graduating with a degree in Electrical.
He was united in marriage to Joy Peterson on November 29, 1980, at Maynard Lutheran Church. He worked for Potter Electric and spent a majority of his time working at grain elevators throughout the mid-west. Rod enjoyed visiting with neighbors and friends and woodworking. He adored his grandchildren and the time spent with them.
Rodney passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at his residence in Montevideo. He was 72 years of age.
He is survived by his children: Josh (Caresa Quigley) of Montevideo, Amanda (Derek) Greenwood of West Fargo, North Dakota and GW of Moorhead; grandchildren: Chance Birman, Drake Olson, Korbyn Olson, Freya Olson, Logan Greenwood, Caleb Greenwood and Karmen Quigley; siblings: Loran (Diana) Olson of Arizona, Brian (Teresa) Olson of Milan and Brenda (Dave) Jones of Montevideo; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joy and their eldest son Jordan.
