Robert Plocher, age 67, of Granite Falls, died peacefully at his home, in the loving presence of his family on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Private family interment will be held at the Granite will be held at Granite Falls City Cemetery.
Robert Alan Plocher was born on July 11, 1950, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Donald J. and Vivian I. (Johnson) Plocher. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at First Lutheran Church in Lake Lillian, Minnesota and graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1968.
On March 4, 1971, Robert married Sharon Ann Kietzman at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Granite Falls, Minnesota. He was employed for many years at the Green Company in Granite Falls and later by Payless Piano.
Robert enjoyed gardening, country living, cooking, lawn mowing, watching sports and going fishing with his buddy, Ted. He also loved farming and assisting the Jaenisch family in their field work.
Surviving family include his loving wife, Sharon of Granite Falls; mother, Vivian Minsaas of Granite Falls; sons, Bradley Plocher (Aly and her daughter, Londyn) of Granite Falls, John Plocher (Allie and children, Elise & Kellen) of Buffalo; brothers, Gary (Jennifer) Plocher of Maple Grove, James Plocher of Lac Qui Parle; sisters, Ann (Kevin) Nordstrom of Montevideo, Sherry (David) Deters of Maple Grove; sister-in-law, Karon (Ted) Dawson of Aurora, CO; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Donald Plocher and his step father, Stanley Minsaas.
