Robert C Peterson

Robert Chester Peterson was born May 30, 1945, in Montevideo, the son of Chester & Nina (Smith) Peterson. He was baptized and confirmed at Saron Lutheran Church. Pete graduated from the Granite Falls High School in 1963. In October of 1963, he served his country in the United States Air Force, working as an aircraft mechanic. He was honorably discharged in May of 1967.
Following his return home he farmed until 1986. Pete was united in marriage to Denise Reuther on July 19, 1985, in the gazebo at the home place. He worked with Potter Electric until 1990 when he started RC Peterson Electric and later developed an oil dust suppression system known as Agri-Duster. As his new company grew his heart was still with the land and his stewardship of the land became very important to him over the years. Pete enjoyed spending time at the lake with family and friends.
Pete passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at the Granite Falls Hospital. He was 70 years of age.
He is survived by his wife Denise; children: Randy (Bobbi) of Granite Falls; Candy Dyson (special friend Bob) of Shreveport, Louisiana; Liesl (Mike) Doll of Montevideo and Blair (Wassana) Reuther of Nevis; grandchildren: Carson; Keshia, Liam, Christine, Brandon, Matthew and Hunter; great grandchild Kaylyne; sister Doris (Gene) Larson of Montevideo and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
