Richard Draeger

Richard Lee Draeger was born in Willmar, Minnesota on November 15, 1955. He was the son of Marvin Robert and Barbara Jean Draeger. Rick was raised in Clara City; baptized and confirmed at Bethany Reformed Church and graduated from Clara City High School. He farmed for a while north of Clara City prior to moving to Montevideo where he owned and operated Rick's Texaco Station on the corner of 5th Street and Hwy 7. Rick enjoyed being with his family, hunting, fishing, gardening and cooking. He was a gifted auto mechanic and was always willing to help a friend in need. He had a great sense of humor and openly admitted that he was struggling through some rough times in his life, but always maintained a strong faith in his Lord Jesus. He is survived by his two sons- Ben (& Kristin) Draeger of Ottertail, and Ryan (& Alicia) Draeger of Battle Lake; 4 grandchildren- Addison, Justin, Morgan & Jake; 3 sisters- Trudy (Jim) Knoop of Montevideo, Shirley (David) Knoop of Willmar and Faye (Brad) Berghuis of Park Rapids; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Rick was preceded in death by his parents- Marvin in 2006 and Barbara in 2007.
