Rebecca “Becky” Thorstad, age 74, of Montevideo, Minnesota passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Luther Haven in Montevideo, Minnesota. A private family service will be held at a later date.
Rebecca Lee Thorstad was born December 28, 1948 to Clement and Doris (Schneider) Meyenburg in Montevideo, Minnesota. She attended school in Montevideo, where she graduated in 1967, and went on to junior college in Willmar.
Becky moved to the Twin Cities to attend art school and was then employed by Video Resources. She also worked in retail in downtown Minneapolis, which she loved. Fashion was her thing. Becky, along with her sister, Linda and family moved back to Montevideo in 2000. She worked at Luther Haven and in-home health.
Becky was a free spirit who followed her own rules. She was a talented artist and a collector of many treasures. Becky enjoyed gardening and tending to her many flowers. She also loved chilling at Lake Gilchrist with family.
Becky is survived by her sister Linda (Rex) Hodge; brothers, Rick (Mort) Meyenburg, Jeff (Peggy) Meyenburg; nieces, Amanda (Jake), Kimberly, Lacey; nephews, Tyler (Patty), Ryan (Brittany); along with many cousins whom she loved dearly.
Becky is preceded in death by her parents, Clem and Doris; grandparents, Herman and Marie Meyenburg, Clarence and Florence Schneider; aunts and uncles, Doug and Arlene, Florene and George, Chesley and Yvonne.
