Ramona Lemke

August 9, 1941 — November 20, 2009

Ramona Darlene "Mona" Lemke was born on August 9, 1941, in Canby, MN, the daughter of Carl & Ruth Drengson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and graduated from Granite Falls High school in 1958. Mona was united in marriage to Glenvy Lemke on Feb. 10, 1962. Mona worked with tuberculosis patients at the Granite Falls Sanatorium, was employed as a cook at the Nook & Cranny and most recently managed the Sacred Heart Liquor Store. Mona enjoyed camping, cooking, canning, all sorts of handiwork, gardening and being outdoors. She was a member of the Granite Falls Legion Women's Auxiliary and Rock Valle Lutheran Church. She also participated in the Ladies Aide at Rock Valle Lutheran Church. Mona enjoyed kidding people and making them laugh. She added much happiness to the people around her, but eventually her frail body could not keep up with her strong spirit and in the evening hours of Monday Nov. 16, 2009, Mona was called from this life while a patient at the Granite Falls Municipal Hospital. She was 68 years of age. Surviving family include her husband Glenvy of Sacred Heart, MN; her nephew Richard (& Lorrie) Lemke of Castlewood, SD; their children- JoAnn, Dean, LeeAnn & Jessica; her niece Linda (& Lanny) Rettig of Chaska, MN; their children- Dustin and Anthony; her nephew Mark Anderson of Dawson, MN; special friends Jenny Leyse of Granite Falls, MN and David Schmidt of Sacred Heart, MN. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her parents; one sister and one brother
