Ramona Marie Larson was born on April 19, 1933, in Marvin, SD, the daughter of Lawrence B. and Louise (Winters) Emmert. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and grew up in the Marvin, SD area. On November 21, 1964, Ramona was united in marriage to Leo Larson in Hazel Run. She lived with Leo on a farm near Hazel Run, and eventually moved into Clarkfield where they were residents of Valhalla Apartments. Leo passed away in 1984 and Ramona continued to reside in Clarkfield until her poor health dictated becoming a resident of Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo. During her active years, Ramona was employed as a waitress, caregiver and provided day care. She was a devoted homemaker and loving mother and grandmother. Ramona also participated in Ladies Aide, Birthday Club and displayed her numerous ribbon winning crafts at county fairs. She will always be remembered for her bubbly and outgoing, friendly personality. Ramona was called from this life peacefully on Monday, February 25, 2013, at Luther haven Nursing Home. She was 79 years of age.Immediate family surviving Ramona is her two brothers- Lawrence Gene Emmert of Spokane, WA and Norman Arlo Emmert of Smithville, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, one brother; 1 sister; 1 grandchild; one great grandchild and three step-daughters.
