Peg Nerison

April 2, 1924 — January 29, 2012

Margaret Frances "Peg" Nerison was born on April 2, 1924, in Oxford, Ohio, the daughter of John and Laura Caldwell. She was baptized and confirmed in the Presbyterian faith and grew up in Oxford. She graduated from high school in Oxford and went on to further her education at the Miami University in Oxford where she received a B.A. degree. On June 3, 1946, Peg was united in marriage to Curtis G. Nerison in Oxford. They eventually made their home in Montevideo, MN. Prior to having children, Peg worked as a social worker for Chippewa County and later the State of MN when the children left for college. She then joined Curtis in his occupation as a traveling sales representative for the Deaton-Kennedy Company specializing in funeral service sundry items and printed materials. Following Curtis? death, Peg took over his sales territory. Peg was an active member of the Montevideo community and served on the Montevideo School Board, the Luther Haven Board of Trustees, Community Concert Board and was the President and Regional Coordinator of the American Field Service (AFS). She was also a faithful and supporting member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, singing in Ladies Choir, serving as President of the Church Council and as a member of Elizabeth Circle. She was a member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), P.E.O. and volunteered of her time and talents to other civic and church activities.Peg enjoyed traveling, attending community concerts, playing bridge, reading and spending time with her family and friends. In the afternoon hours of Sunday, January 29, 2012, Peg was called peacefully from this life while a patient at the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital. She was 87 years of age. She is survived by her children- Beth C. Nerison of Minnetonka, MN, Jane P. Nerison of Knoxville, TN, Christopher J. Nerison of Spokane, WA, and Riet Zegers of Gent, Belgium; 1 grandson- Erik Nerison and extended family.Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband Curtis in Sept. of 1981.
