Pearl Elaine Trotter was born on December 23, 1935, the daughter of Nels and Nora (Bern) Svenby, in Mahnomen, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She grew up and attended school in northern Minnesota.
Pearl moved to Sacred Heart to live with her sister. This is where she met her future husband, Raymond. They were united in marriage on June 28, 1952, and after moving around for several years, they settled down in Granite Falls. The couple was blessed with four children: Christopher, Becky, Duffy, and Donnie.
Pearl worked for Plews in Granite Falls for 31 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed working in her flower gardens and was always tinkering with different plants. She loved to decorate her home and had different decor for every holiday and season. Pearl was a loving grandmother who cherished her grandchildren and joyfully spoiled them with treats, gifts, and hugs. She also had a special place in her heart for cats.
Pearl is survived by her daughter, Becky (Jim) Moorse of Thornton, CO; son, Donnie (Jodi) Trotter of Granite Falls; grandchildren, Nathan, Shane, James, Kayla, Kelly, Waylon, Neil, Paula, April, David, Justin, KyLee, and Christopher; several great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ray; sons Christopher and Duffy; grandson Aaron; sisters Maude Gunderson, Irene Randall, and Lillian Butenhoff; and brothers Oscar, Harvey, Orval, Palmer, and Lloyd Svenby.
