Pauline Kipp, 87, of Granite Falls, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 23rd at the Upper Sioux Multi-Purpose Building. Visitation will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, March 22nd at the Upper Sioux Multi-Purpose Building, with services at 7:00 pm and continue until the time of the service. Lenora Pauline Kipp was born October 17, 1936, the daughter of Paul & Helen (Brant) Ross in Granite Falls. She attended school in Granite Falls. As a young woman she began her career with the BIA Relocation Program and traveled the United States from Chicago, Cleveland, Denver area and finally to the Los Angeles area. Eventually she moved back to Sisseton, South Dakota where she worked with Public Health Services in medical records from 1983 to 1985, the Tribal Court System in Sisseton from 1985 to 1991, as a court reporter from 1991 to 1993. Pauline moved back to Granite Falls in 1993, and helped start a BIA Court in Granite Falls and worked there until 1996. After her retirement she was called back into service for the community to train a replacement in 1997.
Pauline treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved arts & crafts and sewing. She enjoyed thrift shopping and playing bingo.
Pauline is survived by her children: Theresa Ross (Jim) Villebrun, Elgin Kipp, Jill Kipp, Sheldon (Donna) Kipp, Sue Ann Kipp, Wendy Ross, and Craig (Jamie) All Runner; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; hunka sons Darrell DeCouteau Jr, Clayton Crawford Sr; hunka sisters Carole (King) Iron Moccasin; and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Anthony “Tony” Ross, granddaughter Helene Mia Ross, grandsons: Coby Allen Kipp, Kristopher Goss, and Alex All Runner; hunka son Todd Dirtseller, hunka sisters: Barbara King, Darlene King, and Shirley Redwing Johnson.
