Paul Sylvester Skogrand was born July 23, 1919 in Appleton, MN, the son of Peder and Hilma (Grunstad) Skogrand. He passed away Saturday January 12, 2008 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo, MN. He obtained the age of 88 years old. Paul grew up and attended country school in the Big Bend area. Following his school years he worked in farming before entering the Army. Paul served his country during World War II receiving his honorable discharge in 1945. Paul was united in marriage to Minnie Skare on March 30, 1946 in Benson, MN. To this union four children were born. Paul worked as a mechanic for Larson Brothers Studebaker Garage for seventeen years and later in maintenance for Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo. Paul enjoyed Bowling and watching the Twins and especially liked spending time with his family. In later years Paul enjoyed the company of his cat "kitty". Paul is survived by his children; Steve (Sharon) Skogrand of Bellingham, WA, Paulette (Larry) Meinerts of Montevideo, MN, Tami (Matt) Henrich of Ortonville, MN, Diane Smith of Montevideo, MN; thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grand children, and several nieces and nephews. Paul is preceded in death by his parents, wife Minnie in 2004; Grandsons: Steven Paul Skogrand II and Randy Fultz, and several brothers and sisters.
