Paul Heuveln

Paul John Van Heuveln was born August 14, 1951, in Willmar, the son of Wallace & Donna Van Heuveln. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City. He grew up in the Clara City and Maynard area, graduating from Maynard High School in 1969.After attending Willmar Community College, Paul enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1971. He married Vicky Levitz on August 15, 1971.During Paul's 21 years serving our country he was stationed at Topeka, Kansas; Omaha, Nebraska; Korea; San Antonio, Texas and Norton Air Force Base, California. While in Korea, Paul met and married Kim Pok Son and they celebrated the arrival of their daughter, Kimberly Donna. Paul was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force in November of 1992, and returned to Minnesota to live and work. He had most recently worked in the security department of Prairie's Edge Casino, retiring in August of 2009. He was a member of the American Legion, D.A.V and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed having his dog, Belle, accompany him when he ran errands or visited his family. Paul is survived by his daughter Kimberly and her husband Eddie Palacios of Yucaipa, California; his parents Wallace and Donna Van Heuveln of Montevideo; sister Sue (Bob) Riley of Granite Falls; brother Scott (Trudi) Van Heuveln of Clara City and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.He was preceded in death by his first wife Vicky in 1971, his former wife Kim in 2000, his brother Dan in 2005 and his beloved furry companions: Lola, Lela and Belle.
