Palmer Fred Blank was born October 7, 1929 in Appleton, Minnesota the son of George and Christina (Bartz) Blank. He passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
He grew up and attended school in the Appleton area, graduating from Appleton High School in 1947. Palmer was united in marriage to Delores Tofte on October 24, 1954, at the Louisburg Lutheran Church.
Palmer and Delores made their home in Montevideo as he began his career in the grocery store business. Palmer served as produce manager at Gary’s Red Owl and later County Market. He took great pride in his job and enjoyed visiting with the customers and keeping up on current events.
He enjoyed a good game of dominoes, watching all sports and attending local high school events. Palmer especially enjoyed golfing, and was active in golf league late into his life.
Palmer is survived by his son, Jeff (Shannon) Blank of Dawson; sister, Georgine Robertson of Mitchellville, IA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over 57 years, Delores Blank; parents: George and Christina Blank; and a sister in infancy: Marjorie Ann.
