Noreen Sperl

Noreen Ann Sperl was born August 31, 1964 in Comfrey, Minnesota, the daughter of Robert and JoAnn Sperl. She passed away Thursday August 16, 2012 at her home in Granite Falls. She was baptized into the Catholic faith in Comfrey, and confirmed at St. John's Catholic Church in Morton. Noreen grew up and attended school in Morton and graduated from Renville High School.Noreen continued her education at South West Minnesota State in Marshall receiving her B.S. in accounting. She worked as a surveyor with a road construction company and most recently was manager at Jakes Pizza in Granite Falls.In 2000 she was united in marriage to Chris Steenson in Watertown, South Dakota, to this union one son Johnathon was born.Noreen was a huge Chicago Bears fan and also cheered for the Minnesota Wild. She enjoyed growing flowers especially Tiger Lilly's, jigsaw puzzles, and music. She was very artistic and painted colorful murals on the walls of her home. She was able to take her son Johnny to the Wisconsin Dells in July for a family vacation and liked riding on the ?duck boats." Noreen is survived by her son: Johnathon Steenson of Granite Falls; daughter: Amanda Mahoney of Minneapolis; parents: Robert and JoAnn Sperl of Redwood Falls; siblings: Doug (Patti) Sperl of Savage; Nancy Sperl of Plymouth; John (Denise) of Redwood Falls; Koleen Sperl of Granite Falls; Joyce (Dan) Smith of Redwood Falls; Sandra Sperl of Denver, Colorado; good friends: Chris (Lori Nelson) Steenson of Granite Falls; Kay and Herb Steenson of Granite Falls; Kari (David) Hastad of Lakeville; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family.She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
