Norbert Paul Anderson was born on August 11, 1958, in Aurora, Ill, the son of Elmer and Mary Jane (Goubeaux) Anderson. He was baptized at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Plano, Ill and later confirmed as a Christian in the Catholic faith. He attended Leland Community School, unit #1 and graduated in 1976.
Norbert was united in marriage to Maggie Law on August 2, 1986. He was a gifted handyman, a carpenter by trade and enjoyed deer hunting, camping and playing Santa for the kids at Christmas time. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1976 to 1978, during which time he was with the Old Guard stationed in Washington D.C. Norbert was very proud of his time in service.
Norbert always had a smile and was always ready to give to and help others. He passed away on Wednesday June 22, 2016 at the age of 57 years.
He is survived by his wife Maggie of Montevideo, MN; his daughter Ida-Mari also of Montevideo; his mother Mary Jane Hilt of Montevideo, MN; brothers Lawrence (& Jeannie) Anderson of Sycamore, Ill and Darren (& Carla) Anderson of Urbandale, IA; his sister-in-law Charlotte (& Jim) Bixler of Indianola, IA and special friends Jerry and Denise Ryer of Montevideo, MN.
He was preceded in death by his father Elmer Anderson; step-father Vernon Hilt and his maternal grandparents Adolph and Emma Goubeaux. Blessed be his memory among us.
