Nicholas (Bo) Avery Schommer (Zuya Mani) was raised by his father, Edward G. Schommer along with his twin sister, Nicole. They were born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and later moved to Granite Falls. Nick attended Yellow Medicine East High School where he participated in football, wrestling and track.
Nick worked for a short period at Olson Sanitation and later worked at Prairie’s Edge Casino as a Blackjack dealer until his health issues caused him to leave his job.
Some of Nick’s favorite things to do were to play poker, blackjack, going to casinos, watching movies, and he was an avid Viking fan. He also enjoyed his video gaming, dog sitting and perhaps most of all, visiting with family and friends. Despite his many health issues, Nick was always smiling his contagious smile.
Nick is survived by his twin sister Nicole (Sherman) Schommer of Wood Lake; grandfather, Edward P. Schommer of Wood Lake; Grandmother, Carolynn (Cavender) Schommer of Granite Falls; uncle, Matt (Julie) Schommer of Granite Falls; aunts, Dawn Chase of Granite Falls, Kari (Allen) Redwing of Granite Falls, aunt and godmother, Lisa (Russell) Leaf of Granite Falls; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Nick was preceded in death by his father, Edward G. Schommer; uncle, Scott Schommer and infant aunt, Mary Fern.
