Neal Gordon Winge, age 61, of Boyd, MN, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, at the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital, while fighting a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Neal was born on March 2, 1956, in Clarkfield, MN, the son of Gordon and Doris (Alstad) Winge. He was baptized on April 19, 1956 and confirmed in the Lutheran faith on May 16, 1971, all in Trinity Lutheran Church of Boyd.
Neal attended elementary school in Boyd, MN and graduated in 1974 from high school in Dawson, MN.
Neal was employed at Coborn’s Grocery in Montevideo, until his illness prevented him from his duties. He will always be remembered for his warm smile and sense of humor. He was a beautiful person and will be fondly remembered.
Surviving family include his sisters- Julie Nilsen, Ellen (& Dan) Dames and Gail (& Dennis) Long; 7 nieces & nephews and 9 great nieces & nephews and extended family. He is also survived by his special friends Bev & Rick Johnson; Kelly & Duane Schmitz and Jody Hilden who faithfully cared for his needs during his illness and made him smile; many other friends and co-workers.
Preceding Neal in death were his maternal and paternal grandparents; his parents; a brother- Bruce; a brother-in-law, 1 niece and 1 nephew as well as numerous aunts & uncles.
