Nancy Tostenson

Nancy Carol Tostenson was born May 4, 1956, in Dawson, Minnesota, the daughter of Birdeen & Delores (Jerve) Winge. She was baptized at Lac qui Parle Lutheran Church in Dawson and was confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. She graduated from the Montevideo High School in 1974.
Nancy was united in marriage to Lonny Tostenson, her high school sweetheart, on April 1, 1978, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. She worked at the Montevideo Middle School from 1976 until 1982. In 1985 she began working with Lonny at Tostenson Inc. and worked there until 2016. She was actively involved at Our Saviors Lutheran Church serving on numerous boards, along with teaching Sunday School and Confirmation classes.
Nancy loved the outdoors; especially 'Hawk Creek' farm that she and Lonny built together. It was her favorite place to watch her grandchildren play and for family and friends to gather. Over the years, it brought joy to her heart taking family vacations and spending time at Lake Miltona. Nancy's greatest joy and pride in life was watching her children grow and spending as much time with her grandchildren as possible. Family will remember her strength, determination, generosity, kindness, and love for family.
Nancy passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017, at the Chippewa County Montevideo Hospital surrounded by her family. She was 60 years of age.
She is survived by her husband Lonny, children: Derek (Marie) Tostenson; Katie (Brandon) Raymo and Ryan (fiancé Molli Bruns) Tostenson all of Montevideo; her beloved dog Rylee; grandchildren: Nolan, Noah, Ella, Ethan & Baby Tostenson and Adelyn, Gretta & Eli Raymo; siblings: JoAnn (Tom) Vonderharr; Linda (Orlyn) Greseth; Barbara (Gary) Jordahl; and Kevin Winge (Kevin Shores); in-laws: Kenny (Darlene) Tostenson; Becky Dahl; Randy (Mary) Tostenson; Perry (Lori) Tostenson and Stacy (George) Geerdes; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Steenson; mother-in-law Sally Tostenson; and two brothers-in-law Eric Steenson and Richard Dahl.
