Myrtice Lefevre

Myrtice Hermina Alletta Rosten, daughter and first child of Ole Rosten and Alma Lund Rosten, was born November 9, 1917 in Minnewaska Township near Starbuck, Minnesota. She attended country schools and graduated from Glenwood High School. On January 7, 1938, she married Lloyd L. McCann. They had three children: Joyce, Janice and Gary. She met her second husband at dance class. Myrtice loved to dance. She and Henry Lefevre married October 28, 1972 and moved to Denver, Colorado, where they lived until 2003. The couple traveled extensively visiting many of the 50 states, Europe and Australia. They relocated to Alexandria, Minnesota in 2003. In 2009, they moved to Glenwood Estates in Glenwood. Henry passed away in 2011 after 38 years of marriage and Myrtice moved to Montevideo to be near her daughter, Jan. During her lifetime, Myrtice worked as a clerk, beautician, receptionist and seamstress. She enjoyed bird watching and was an avid reader-passing her love for books on to her children and grandchildren. Myrtice loved children and liked to tease the adults. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her true joy. She made many friends throughout her long life. She will be missed. She is survived by her daughters; Joyce (Peter) Wolf of Oak Harbor, WA and Janice (Wayne)Karels of Montevideo; Henry's son Lynn (and former daughter-in-law Shirley) of Martinez, CA; daughter Linda(Jim) Linehan of Healdsburg, CA; daughter Mari (Dale) Baldwin of Finksberg, MD; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; siblings: Arthur Rosten and Donald (Mary) Rosten all of Glenwood, James (Phylis) Rosten of Concord, CA; Robert (Janet) Rosten of Great Falls, MT; Gladys (Lars) Nygard of Muskegon, MI; and Betty (Vince) Scherber of Rogers; nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her father Ole (1956), mother Alma (1994), son Gary (1963), and her husbands Lloyd and Henry.
