Miriam Johnson

Miriam Aline Cooley Reed Johnson was born September 25, 1916. Miriam formally of Morrison, Iowa and Waterloo, Iowa, passed away July 31, 2017 in Granite Falls, Minnesota at the age of 100. She was born in Iowa City, Iowa, one of 12 children of Alonzo B. Cooley and Alma Mae (Starr) Cooley. Miriam married Alfred Roy Reed. Alfred died on October 17, 1941. Miriam married Lloyd “Speed” Johnson on July 3, 1953. He passed away on July 1, 1980.
Surviving are her five children: Evelyn Reed Miller, John Roy Reed, Roger Lee Reed, Sharon Reed Kamp (Jim), James Johnson (Brenda), 18 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 21 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands, daughter Marie Reed Spreen, sons-in-law: Ray Spreen and Karl Miller, daughter-in-law Bethene Mae Smith Gilliam Reed and grandchildren: Michael Todd Reed, Brandy Miller and Ricky Spreen.
