Minerva Kise

February 1, 1921 — May 12, 2010

Minerva Adeline (Moen) Kise was born on February 1, 1921.She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Our Savior's of Baxter Church and was united in marriage to Lloyd Kise in 1942. They lived in Boyd and Clarkfield, MN for a number of years and during that time they were blessed with three children- Loretta, Rose & David. Lloyd passed away on November 14, 1970 and in 1974, Minerva moved to Montevideo. Minerva was a faithful member of our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo and volunteered for the Prairie Five Senior Dining Program and Luther Haven Nursing Home. She enjoyed being with her family, playing cards, embroidering, baking, making lefse and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Minerva was also a member of the card club at Parkview Apartments where she lived before moving to Rosewood Assisted Living in 2006. In 2007, she became a resident of Luther Haven Nursing Home. On Saturday afternoon, May 8, 2010, Minerva was called from this life at the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital. She was 89 years of age. Surviving family include her children- Loretta (& Gordon) Hewitt of Granite Falls, MN, Rose (& Jerry) Hansen of Alexandria, MN and David (& Barb) Kise of Parkton, MD; 8 grandchildren- Steve (& Jill) Hewitt of Mankato, Stacy (& Paul) Ratz of Fergus Falls, Marc (& Lisa) Hewitt of Brooklyn Park, Darla (& Darrell) Mackedanz of Litchfield, Jill (& Jason) Goux of Plymouth, Lindsey Hansen of Plymouth, Sherry Kise of Baltimore, and Tera (& Scott) Chester of Shrewbury, PA; 13 great grandchildren- Jenna & Daniel Hewitt, Emily, Ryan, Tori & Jack Ratz, Bradley & Drew Hewitt, Kelly & Cory Mackedanz, Kyla & Cassidy Goux and Jayden Chester; one sister- Wanda (& Billy) Feist of St. Cloud, and one sister-in-law, Ruth Moen of Dawson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister- Pearl and five brothers- Mike Moen, Casey Moen, Palmer Moen, Rueben Moen and Orville Moen.
