Mildred Washburn

Mildred was born on Dec. 8, 1925, in Sacred Heart, MN, the daughter of Rudolph and Laura Skjefte. She was baptized on Jan. 1, 1926 in Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Sacred Heart, MN and confirmed in the Lutheran faith on Oct. 17, 1948 in Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Mildred attended and graduated from high school in Granite Falls, MN and worked at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Milwaukee, WI from 1968 ? 1982. She also was the curator for the Yellow Medicine County Museum in Granite Falls from 1984 ? 1998. She loved baking, sewing, crocheting and spending time with her family. On Monday morning July 27, 2009, Mildred died peacefully at the Granite Falls Municipal Hospital. She was 83 years of age. Surviving family include her son- Robert R. Robertson of Belen, NM; her daughter- Kristine (& Todd) Anderson of Granite Falls, MN; her brothers- Galen (& Bonnie) Skjefte and Willard (& Mona) Skjefte all of Granite Falls, MN; one sister- Ruth Pederson of Granite Falls, MN; 7 grand children and 8 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; 3 sisters; one brother and two brother-in-laws.
