Mavis Ione Timm was born on August 23, 1928, the daughter of Rudolph & Rose (Hempel) Jeseritz. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. John’s Lutheran Church. She attended country school in rural Wood Lake.
On December 15, 1946, Mavis was united in marriage to Alfred Walter Timm at the St. John’s Lutheran Church and they made their home on a farm near Wood Lake until moving to rural Granite Falls. They were blessed with 69 plus years of friendship and marriage. Mavis was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and loved nature. She was very fond of “Lady”, the family dog. She served on Alter Guild, LWML, church taping and church activities. Mavis also loved to visit and spend time with her family and friends.
On October 20th, while a patient at the Granite Falls Hospital and in the loving presence of her family, Mavis was received into our Lord’s heavenly kingdom.
She is survived by her husband Alfred Timm; children: Thomas Timm of Hutchinson; Jean (Rolland) Peirce of Marshall; Curt (Daphne) Timm, Craig (Sue) Timm and Lee Timm all of Granite Falls; eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren; siblings: Lois (Harold) Fratzke of Cottonwood and Rudy Jeseritz of Osseo, Wisconsin; and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Jim & Jerry.
