Matthew James Dommer was born on June 21, 1992 in Minneapolis, MN the son of Alan and JoAnne (Dommer) Musselman. He graduated from Yellow Medicine East High School in Granite Falls, MN and at the time of his death, was employed by Prairie’s Edge Casino & Resort in Granite Falls, MN, as a banquet cook.
Matthew was known for his kindness and alluring smile. He was a man who had a heart of gold and was always ready and willing to help those who needed assistance. He loved swimming, gaming and spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his compassionate, non self-serving nature. He was called from this life unexpectedly on Friday Sept. 22, 2017, at the Granite Falls Municipal Hospital. He was 25 years of age.
He is survived by his parents- Alan Musselman and JoAnne Dommer of Granite Falls, MN; his siblings- Eric Smith and David Smith both of Sioux Falls, SD, Tina Marie Ziesner of Granite Falls, MN, Jessica Ann Dague of Hastings, MN and Tessa Lynn White of Ft. Riley, KS; his grandmother- Dorothy Mae Musselman of Apple Valley, MN; nieces- Dorothy Escobar of Granite Falls, MN, Faith White of Ft. Riley, KS, Ava Smith, Natalie Smith and Lila Smith all of Sioux Falls, SD; nephews- Conrad Alan Escobar-Cruz of Granite Falls, MN, Grayson White of Ft. Riley, KS, Tyler Smith, Eli Smith and Graham Smith all of Sioux Falls, SD; many friends and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather- Conrad Musselman and his maternal grandparents- Melvin Gust Dommer and Stella Adeline Dommer.
