Mary Joline Warrings was born on June 11, 1954 to Annie and Clarence (Knute) Warrings in Montevideo, Minnesota. As a child, Mary enjoyed spending time with her grandparents, aunts, cousins, and uncles. As she grew up, she enjoyed a variety of activities including, bowling, classic TV shows, basketball, bingo and Special Olympics.
Mary was a life-long resident of Clara City. She attended special education classes in the Clara City schools. Mary had a positive, spontaneous, outgoing, joyful personality. She would beam with genuine happiness and was such a gentle soul.
Her work experience included West Central Industries in Willmar, Impact Plastics in Clara City and Heartland Industries in Montevideo. From 2005 to 2014, Mary especially enjoyed working at “The Second Time Around” thrift shop in Montevideo. She looked forward to interacting with her co-workers, very supportive staff members, and caregivers.
Mary also did volunteer work at Prairie Park Place, enjoyed spending time with family, going to the movies, dining out, swimming and shopping. Onward Services made it possible for Mary to participate in and accomplish many of these activities, allowing her to reach her potential and find success at many different levels.
Since February of 2015, Mary lived at Clara City Care Center. She passed away peacefully at the Care Center on January 17, 2016 having reached the age of 61. The Warrings family is grateful to the Clara City Care Center staff for the support, kindness and compassion given to Mary. Funeral services were held on Friday, January 22nd at St. Clara Catholic Church in Clara City with burial in the church cemetery.
Mary is survived by her mother, Annie, who devoted her whole life to Mary’s well-being. She is also survived by her brother, Lee (Mary Kay) Warrings; sister, Nell Riccatone and special friend Gary Hoover; niece, Dana (Dan) Trujillo; nephew, Brian (Kirsten) Riccatone. great-nieces, Daya Trujillo and Ashley Riccatone, and great-nephew Skye Riccatone and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Knute Warrings; brother-in-law, Robert Riccatone, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
